EligibilityA single Barnwell High School Guidance page collecting 20+ hyperlocal community-funded awards for BHS graduating seniors, most of which appear nowhere else online. Includes the DeVoe Community Foundation Scholarship ($500, academic excellence, leadership and community involvement), Elbert Timothy Moore Sr. Memorial ($1,000, political science or agriculture major), Georgia Mae Brown Scholarship ($1,000, healthcare/Pre-Med/Health Science major with financial need), Frances Scott Turner Moore ($1,000), Lu Richardson Scholarship ($500, "a lover of books and reading"), Willie and Joyce Landrum, Eliza M. Cave Memorial, Pauline P. Zidlick ($500, 3.0+ GPA and good character), Yvette Londe Sanders ($500, education or medicine), Chris Gentry Memorial ($500, completed an occupational program of study), Teacher Forum Scholarship ($500, Teacher Cadet pursuing an education degree), the Barnwell Warhorse Club Scholar Athlete awards and James Wooden Scholarship, Donnie and Sandy Pender (athletes), Eleanor Boland Owens ($250, tennis/athlete preference), Bill Walters' Memorial ($500, senior athlete, essay), plus minority-focused awards - Matthew and Johnnie Ruth Jenkins, Benjamin F. Cave, and The Sagacious 76 Scholarship ($500, "deserving senior of African-American descent"; "Any person of that ethnicity is welcome to apply"). Apply through the Guidance Office - most applications are completed in Kami and submitted to Google Classroom.
