$2,500 each, with ten awarded annually (the number of scholarships and the dollar amounts are subject to change based on available Trust funds each year). Funds are paid directly to the college or technical/trade school for the full award amount, not to the student.
DeadlineApplications are generally accepted January through March each year, with scholarships awarded in May. The 2026 application is open. Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted.
EligibilityGraduating high school seniors living in Berkeley Electric Cooperative's service territory, which covers Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties and includes Hanahan. Minimum 2.5 GPA, plans to attend an accredited college or technical/trade school, demonstrated financial need, and a guidance counselor endorsement. The co-op separately funds Operation Round-Up awards of $1,000 to each of the seven high schools it serves plus three at-large awards for members' children at neighboring or home schools.
