Big Seven Association Scholarship (Blackville and Barnwell County)
Approximately $1,000 per award as listed by area high school guidance offices; 16-17 scholarships awarded per year (17 at the 2025 banquet, 16 at the most recent event). The association reports more than $175,000 awarded over 28 years.
DeadlineAwards are presented at the Annual Big 7 Scholarship Banquet held in late February at Barnwell Elementary School, 10524 Marlboro Ave, Barnwell, SC 29812. Area guidance offices list a spring application deadline of approximately APRIL 30 for the local scholarship packet, but the association itself does NOT publish a deadline on its site - confirm the current year deadline with the Big 7 or your guidance counselor.
EligibilityGraduating high school seniors from high schools in BARNWELL, ALLENDALE, BAMBERG and ORANGEBURG counties - Blackville students (Blackville-Hilda High School and the Barnwell County Career Center, both located in Blackville) are squarely eligible, and area guidance listings name Blackville explicitly alongside Barnwell, Williston and Allendale.
