$300 per year at a California community college; $500 to $2,000 per year at a 4-year university or vocational program, paid half in September and half in January

EligibilityGraduating seniors of the Merced Union High School District - which includes Atwater High School and Buhach Colony High School in Atwater - who will meet all graduation requirements by June, hold a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 through the first seven semesters of high school, and enroll at an accredited California post-secondary school. Requires a brief essay of 3,000 characters or less describing academic and vocational plans. Renewable by reapplying each year, up to four awards. District Office: (209) 325-2036.
